what exactly does one do with stanford university degrees in sociology and american studies? why, start a pajama company of course! at least that's what made perfect sense to college friends jenny and lynn.
after post-college whistle stops ranging from rock concert promotion to filmstrip quality assurance, jenny and lynn realized that the only way to find a fulfilling work environment would be to start their own company. though the two quickly agreed that their shared love of pajamas made starting a sleepwear company the obvious choice, they knew they couldn't tell a wide wale cord from a 1x1 rib knit. since sally struthers didn't offer a correspondence course in clothing manufacturing, they worked at four different garment companies in twelve months and learned enough to start the cat's pajamas® in 1998.
the cat's pajamas® produces its sleepwear entirely in the san francisco bay area. the owners feel it is very important to support their local community and keep jobs in the bay area.
